Goals and Objectives

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

To provide assistance to New, Existing and Youth businesses in the Waubetek region;
To support the acquisition of New, Existing and Youth businesses in the Waubetek region.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

To support and coordinate efforts to ensure Economic Development is a Priority;
To develop/update the Community Investment Profiles;
To provide training on updating the Economic Leakage Study for each community;
To continue to support and coordinate efforts to assist First Nations with Broadband Technology.

BUSINESS SUPPORT

To continue the development and maintenance of the Business Inventory/Directory to encourage networking and use of Aboriginal business services and products;
To provide Business Workshops in the regions serviced by Waubetek;
To support and encourage the establishment of an Aboriginal Business Association;
To continue to support the Aboriginal Tourism Marketing Strategy and Business Plan through the Great Spirit Circle Trail;
To continue to facilitate a business approach towards the coordination of Aboriginal Commercial Fisheries, recreational fisheries and aquaculture.

ECONOMIC SUPPORT

To continue to support and assist with community initiatives primarily through support to the Obezhigojig Economic Developers Association;
To provide assistance in developing and updating the Economic Strategy Template;
To develop a formal communications plan for Waubetek.
